A blanket term for all the virus, trojans, worms, spyware, scareware and extortionware is ‘malware’.

It’s out there and it’s rampant. It can cripple your computer, share your data like credit card numbers with people you don’t want to share with, and it can pretend to be your friend and con you into buying bogus products that leave your computer wide open.
